We are excited to share that we have recently been accepted to take part in the UK Government Kickstart Job Scheme. The Kickstart Scheme is a 6 month paid job with a local employer, and provides a fully funded opportunity for young people to gain experience working in some of Britain’s most exciting companies.
The Government has described the scheme as ‘an innovative way to help young people into work and spur Britain’s economic revival.’ As a small Scottish business we are delighted to take part in the creation of jobs for young people. Therefore, we are proud to be doing our part in getting young adults not only back into the workforce, but gaining the experience necessary to advance their careers.
The Government has pointed out that young people are more likely to have been furloughed, with many working in sectors disproportionately hit by the pandemic. Government figures now show that a record 538,000 under-25s claimed Universal Credit in lockdown. This scheme is designed to build their skills in the workplace and are meant to help them gain experience to improve their chances of finding long-term work. ‘The scheme will open the door to a brighter future for a new generation and ensure the UK bounces back stronger as a country.’
